- 1960's DOMINO CALIFORNIA REBEL!!!! sunburst[
for those who need a ' beyond cool' axe
- yikes !! diamond strings is more then proud to finally offer the king-o-da
cheezzy guitars! The infamous Domino California rebel. This may be the only
thing ever sent over from Japan in the 60's[ Kawaii factory so I hear] with
a name that truly matches the oddball shaope and features. for instance ,,.
it looks like an inverted Vox Phantom and it's a thinline kinda like a thinline
tele. It's got a whammy of couse AND it's got a slotted headstock for crissakes.
!! The sunbrust finnish which isn't actually all that bad is almost totally
hidden by it's fake woodgrain pickguard. Best of all, According to international
laws, which have now eased up, you no longer have to reside in california
and be part of a crazed biker gang backup band to own one. So Don't listen
to what your wife sayz about your low bank account,,. this time be a man .

to hold sixstrings, the 30" scale was perfect for a six string bass.
it is an octave lower so you just play it like a guitar [ or bass] . the
body is a new gold mettalic[ glitter] strat style . the strat style pickups
are generic but they sound very strong. bridge humbucker is from a vintage
Yamaha and the tailpiece is a massive stop tail style for a six string.

have had but a lot less money to you.. $525 photo1

TWO ULTRA RARE
WANDRE DAVOLI basses
-
-
- Perhaps more Art then Musical Instrument AND Perhaps the
very rarest of all Wandre basses. [ of course all Wandres
are allready quite rare] , The Tigre is a two pickup 34"
scale bass. Rosewood board with slotted headstock. String
cover was retro-custom made by Diamondstrings and fits the
original holes. The bridge cover also serves as a string
mute. . According to Luciano Biasemetti, Europe's # 1 authority
on Wandre's, He does not know if another one is actaully
in existance as he has never seen one On top of this, it
is an exotic metallic green with black .
During it's life somebody decided to round off the back
of the aluminum neck with a stucco-like filler so it feels
more like a typical neck profile [ which it now does] IF
this is a problem , Diamondstrings can easily remove this.
But for playing it does feel better and is NOT COLD like
any of the others. I believe Wandre Pioli himself would
enjoy it even more this way. An absolutely astounding find
for collector OR player or both. photo

on GBASE.COM ]

Perhaps more art then musical instrument....An amazing find,
Recently brought in from Italy, ALL Wandre's are rare especially
the basses. The Cobra is a long scale , rosewood board with
aluminum neck bass. It 'sport's two Wandre custom made pickups
and about the coolest most bizarre headstock ever. The pickguard
has a 'cobra style pattern. Strait an an arrow[ of course]
the aluminum Davoli necks with designed by Wandre Pioli himself,to
combat the serious problems of warpage which they VERY sucessfully
did. However after the thin plastic coverings finally wore
or broke away from the aluminum , like Travis Bean's,Kramer's
and other's who tried it, the feel at first is very cool to
the touch. The string covers was retro-custom made by Diamondstrings
and fits the original holes. The bridge cover aslo serves as
a mute. This bass sounds , looks and plays great and is beyond
rare. It's in great shape too! headstock

- 1960's Princeton hollobody creme
- this is one cool bass, I've never heard of a Priceton but you can tell
by it's apointments that it was made either by EKO or teisco in the mid 60's.
Looks like it has a long neck but it is a 30" scale and sounds a LOT
like a hofner. plays with nice low action .The single pickup is quite strong
and put in just the right place [ like a musicman stingray] to get a balanced
tone. the body shape is not unlike a fender Coronado but this must be just
a coincidence. Cool look with Creme finish and black binding. VG+ , GB, $350

- 1960's ESTRADA Violin bass[ hollow body with
fake f-holes]
- looks like a Gibson EB-1 , it has indented f-holes that are not cut out.
but it is actually a hollow body and very light. Two humbucking pickups, Pickguard
looks clear in the photos from the glare but it is a wood grained formica.
The nut and bridge are repros made at Diamondstrings. Two of the tuners are
not original but work well. Action is low on it's bound shortscale neck. a
good amount of touched up dings mostly on the edges but all in all a very
cool and highly playable bass w/ssc $450 photo1

- 1960's and new Kapa-Diamondstrings BASS VI
gold
- a hybrid, we took an old Kapa continental bass neck and converted it to
hold sixstrings, the 30" scale was perfect for a six string bass. it
is an octave lower so you just play it like a guitar [ or bass] . the body
is a new gold mettalic[ glitter] strat style . the strat style pickups are
generic but they sound very strong. bridge humbucker is from a vintage Yamaha
and the tailpiece is a massive stop tail style for a six string. looks great
and plays and sounds as good as any of the Fender VI's we have had but a lot
less money to you.. $525 photo1 photo2

- 1960's GOYA panther bass red
- oh baby, lool no further .. you're home! well ... maybe if your home is
on Krypton or Hoboken. The Panther bass is as wacky as they get. it is the
matching bass to it's deranged brother,The Rangemaster. It;'s got all those
loveable features that you've come to expect from an Itatlian maker with a
Spanish name with Swedish affialiates. Bizarre shape, pushbuttons and a headstock
that very much resembles an anteater. Set up wioth low action and black nylon
tape wound strings for that 60's kinda sound. Mercifully very rare indeed!

- 1960's Klira violin 'beatle' bass
- you know.. the one with the cat's eye f-holes. It's a gas! simple as that!
but let me elaborate.......
- All original hardware with the exception that we had theDIAMONDSTRINGS
dept. of plastics consulted to make new pickup rings. This job was spearheaded
by Bruce Diamond who has been
on the board of the assorted parts divison of
Diamondstrings for years.[ he plays golf on Wednesdays
when he isn't helping out orphans or training the new tellers at the local
eyeball bank.]. Next we ordered up a repro pickguard from the people in our
pickguard and trussrod cover dept. Although these fine folks were allready
stressed from the backorders during the holidays they found time to faithfully
recreate [ from ebay photos] a true to life Klira
pickguard for this model and allthough it may seem to the average journeyman
that it is much like a Hofner bass that sports a similar shape but much less
status amonst those in the know, it just ain't !!OK BUDDY!!!!????. The work
was performed by MR. BRUCE DIAMOND
himself who sometimes visits the underpaid nave's in this sector of the plant
when he isn't carousing with the secretaries..Next, we spared no expence coming
up with a design to top off this rare and noble european madebass guitar .
The folks up on the 12th floor in advertising concidered . "Only a Klira
is good enough" but,, it didn't fly. So, We went to the top. Mr.
Diamond, the CEO [ and janitor] of DIAMONDSTRINGS,
when asked to grace this problem stated simply "
just say Klira Damnit, that's
good enough!! Now, , will you peasents unburden me from your petty problems?"
This was not really a question but more of a urgent 'request'. But,, we later
found out that it was Mr Diamond himself who
designed , built AND installed the new Klira
headstock logo himself [ what a Gem he is and good looking too!!!] .He also
took it upon himself to set up this perticular insturment to his perticualary
high standards. which means action so low , you can't limbo under it even
if you were the ace of spades!!! And believe me Ace, you ain't!. That's about
it. , if you have any other specific questions please don't hesitate to contact
our emailing and computing division and address it to MR. Diamond.
or,call direct 585-424-3369 for Mr.Bruce A. Diamond
. This was written and checked much too quickly for spelling and grammar
era's by Mr. Diamond who also heads up our dept. of redundancy
dept. and the dept. of Bragging.
